Ronald Koeman is the new man in charge at Goodison Park after the Toffees' dismal 2015/16 season. Everton finished in 11th place, a spot that is seriously under-par for a side that has the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley.

Roberto Martinez's men just did not live up to their potential last season and shipped far too many goals for a side that realistically should be challenging for the European positions.

Legendary goalkeeper Tim Howard is leaving the club this summer after almost 10 years of service. Joel Robles replaced the American stopper during the campaign, but Everton still leaked far too many goals. For this reason, Koeman may be looking to sign a new 'keeper to strengthen his new side for next season.

Reports claim that one of Koeman's primary target is Newcastle's Tim Krul. The Dutch goalie is far too good to be playing in the Championship and here are FIVE reasons why the Newcastle ace is the right man to fill in the gap left by Howard.

Experience

krul

Tim Krul has spent plenty of years at the top. In 2011/12, his Newcastle side finished 5th in the Premier League, largely down to Krul's heroics. Krul could be the perfect man to lift Everton back to the top.

Confidence

krul1

Krul is a confident 'keeper and is capable of keeping a team in a game, and perhaps even saving a season. Newcastle really missed him throughout the season just gone as he was ruled out by injury. Krul is confident in himself and would certainly give the Everton defenders some much needed reassurance.

Price

krul2

Krul would certainly be great value for money. He is of course, not one of the finest 'keepers in the world but he could be lured to Goodison Park for a smaller price tag, and he definitely has the ability to play for Everton.

Future

krul3

Krul is just 28-years-old which is still relatively young for a goalkeeper, this signing would permit Everton to focus on the present and build foundations for a strong future. Everton don't want to waste money on a 'keeper who isn't certain to bring results.

Commanding

krul4

Everton conceded an appalling number of goals this term, Krul is the right man to come and collect the ball from crosses that the Everton defence can't seem to deal with. He may not be the big name, but he is definitely a great No.1.
