It’s hard to believe what a few weeks can do in the world of football...

Just 24 days ago, watchers of the Premier League laughed at Manchester United for spending a massive £36million on a relatively unknown 19-year-old from France, claiming that the Red Devils’ mismanagement caused them to panic and sign the youngster on deadline day.

Well those critics seemed to have disappeared, with Anthony Martial scoring four goals in his first three appearances... which is the same amount Liverpool have in the English top flight.

And because of it, a new bandwagon has started in the Fantasy Premier League, as managers clamber to sign the now 8.3 priced youngster into their squad.

But should we ride this bandwagon? Is he the best prospect for points in the upcoming games?

Well that’s why we’re here... to give you the most amount of information possible heading into Gameweek seven of the FPL.

Here are four popular players and the verdict on whether you should bring them in or monitor for now...

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial (centre)

Let’s start with the obvious trending Fantasy Football asset. Anthony Martial (8.3) has scored four goals in his first three appearances for the Red Devils, with 453,495 managers already convinced and bringing him into their squads ahead of the weekend.

However, is it a good move to bring in the young France international? In the very short term, yes it is. Manchester United face an out-of-sorts Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday, and there is a very good chance he will be amongst the points.

But after that things look extremely tricky for the Red Devils, with games against Arsenal (Away), Everton (Away), and then Manchester City (Home), coming up in their next three. The 19-year-old will find it much trickier to plunder the goals then.

And with the massive bandwagon, he isn’t much of a differential. We would advise you to wait until the West Brom game in Gameweek 12, before drafting Martial in... unless you want to sign him just for the game against the Black Cats.

Dimitri Payet

Dimitri Payet (centre)

Another Frenchman on this list, Dimitri Payet has been nothing short of spectacular this season, with the attacking midfielder making a mockery of his 7.8 price-tag with 3 goals and 2 assists in his first six games.

After his two-goal show against Newcastle United in Gameweek five, managers flocked to bring him into their squads despite West Ham United facing Manchester City next in the fixture list, but he provided the points anyway with an assist for Victor Moses’ goal.

But it only gets better, because the Hammers are about to embark on an enticing run of games against Norwich (Home), Sunderland (Away) and Crystal Palace (Away). And even with Chelsea (Home) after that, not many will put it against Payet and co. to beat another big club after their recent showings this season.

Verdict, buy him now!

Riyad Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez

This season’s super bandwagon is undoubtedly Riyad Mahrez, and his train has not stopped chugging along ever since his explosive season opener against Sunderland in Gameweek one.

His price started at a mere 5.5, and it has now risen to 6.4 after six games, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists, already accumulating 58 points. And it doesn’t look like it will stop there.

Their next game is a tricky home clash against Arsenal but after that Leicester City face Norwich (Away), Southampton (Away), Crystal Palace (Home), West Brom (Away), Watford (Home), and Newcastle United (Away), with these games all potentially the stage for Mahrez to collect even more points.

So if you don’t already have him (like the 118,955 managers that transferred him in this week), it may be a necessity to bring him in to keep your team challenging in your respective leagues!

Batefimbi Gomis

Bafetimbi Gomis (centre)

This isn’t the case of joining a bandwagon, but jumping off too early... as 94,298 players have already transferred Batefimbi Gomis (7.4) out of their squads the past gameweek... that's insane!

The France international has 4 goals in 6 games and was an in-demand player after his brilliant start to the season, but managers have already given up on him after two blanks in the past two games. Which we believe is a definite mistake.

Gomis is the focal point of Swansea’s attack as the lone front man and will have chances in the coming weeks, especially with games against Southampton (Away), Spurs (Home), Stoke (Home), and Aston Villa (Away) in their next four.

What we’re saying is don’t jump off the Gomis train yet, because we expect to see the panther celebration being performed again soon.
