Only seven games were played in the Premier League this past weekend, but there were some important scores not only in terms of the title, but also in regards to Fantasy Premier League.

The early kick-off began with Manchester City crushing Stoke City 4-0 at the Etihad on Saturday, before Southampton also put four past Aston Villa while Chelsea did the same against Bournemouth.

However, one of the shocks of the gameweek came between Liverpool and Newcastle United, with the Reds somehow throwing a two-goal lead away against the struggling Magpies to draw the game at 2-2.

It was a brilliant result for Rafa Benitez’s men, but then Sunderland also held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light, nudging the Black Cats out of the relegation zone.

And later on Sunday without Jamie Vardy, Leicester still easily beat Swansea 4-0 to push themselves even closer to the title, and the three points were even bigger when Tottenham only drew West Bromwich Albion 1-1 on Monday.

But who were the real winners and losers in the FPL?

Here are FIVE Fantasy Premier League Talking Points from Gameweek 35.

Manchester City set for rotation

Kelechi Iheanacho (centre)

With Manchester City facing Real Madrid this week in the Champions League semi-final, Manuel Pellegrini was expected to rest a few players and it came true with Kevin de Bruyne and Vincent Kompany missing the entire fixture, while David Silva and Sergio Aguero were hooked off at the 60-minute mark.

This will not bode well for managers with City stars ahead of their trip to Southampton next weekend, with the same outcome set to occur ahead of the second leg.

There could therefore be value in drafting in Kelechi Iheanacho (4.8), who started the game grabbing a brace and an assist to accrue an impressive 16 points.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard comes into consideration

HazardMid

After being invisible for almost the entire season, Eden Hazard (10.8) is worth considering to be drafted in after a two-goal display against Bournemouth, with the Belgian showing signs of the form that made him last season’s PFA Player of the Year.

The Blues face second place Tottenham Hotspur in their next game, but then go on a double-gameweek against Sunderland and Liverpool before a final home tie with Leicester City. Several of these matches could have nothing to play for, meaning Hazard will be not be playing under any pressure and could provide owners with some solid returns.

Sunderland and Newcastle United showing mettle

DefoeSun

Sunderland and Newcastle United both picked up valuable points in their race to beat the drop, with the Blacks Cats keeping their third clean sheet in four matches.

Sam Allardyce’s men have now suddenly come to the fore, with the Wearside club playing teams now dangling in mid-table and not desperate for points as well as having a double gameweek 37.

Newcastle are also worth investing, but with their lack of clean sheets and no double, there seems to be more value in Sunderland at the moment.

No Vardy? Still Party

Leonardo Ulloa (centre)

Leicester City faced Swansea City in what was expected to be a tough game for the title-chasing Foxes, with Jamie Vardy suspended following his red card last week.

However, Claudio Ranieri’s men made easy of the Swans, securing an impressive 4-0 victory at the King Power Stadium courtesy of PFA PoTY Riyad Mahrez, Marc Albrighton, and a brace from Leonardo Ulloa.

With three points needed to secure the title with three games remaining, the Leicester stars will be up for it and Fantasy points could come along with the trophy.

Tottenham stutter

Tottenham dejected

After a 4-0 victory over Stoke City last weekend, many expected Tottenham Hotspur to push Leicester all the way in the title race, with a victory over West Bromwich Albion on the cards on Monday.

However, Harry Kane and co couldn’t brush aside the Baggies, making it a massive seven-point gap between the Lilywhites and the league leaders.

Next up for Tottenham are Chelsea, but with the game being held on Monday after Leicester’s trip to Manchester United, the London clash could be irrelevant if the Foxes beat the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
