Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella has admitted that he is open to a move to the Premier League this month.
The Magpies haven’t yet made a concrete approach, which has left the door ajar for United, who are thought to be big fans of the creative ace.
Cabella – who is being hailed as one of Ligue 1’s top talents – says that he is happy in his current surroundings, but that if an offer from England was accepted he would seriously consider his options.
“For the moment, in my head, I’m 100 per cent Montpellier,” Cabella told Sky Sports.
“If a proposal comes, it is up to the two clubs to discuss and I will think in terms of that.
“I am not aware of what is happening, I am dedicated to playing and that is the most important.
“Newcastle? Well, we realise that at some point we must leave. I think I’m capable of it.
“England interests me, there are good clubs out there. If Montpellier reaches an agreement with an English club that suits me, I’ll be happy.”
Cabella has been performing well for Montpellier, but has been unable to prevent them from slipping towards the relegation zone this term.
As well as Newcastle and United, Monaco and PSG have both been linked with the silky midfielder.
