Patrice Evra, whose contract is set to expire this summer, could follow club captain Nemanja Vidic to Inter Milan as the Italian side prepare to lure the Manchester United left back to Serie A, Express reports.
It is believed that the French defender is a top target for Walter Mazzarri’s side as he could be available on a free transfer if Evra chooses not to extend his current contract at United.
However, the 32-year-old has yet to hold any contract talks with the club as he looks set to leave after being the first choice left-back since 2006, winning the English Premier League five times and the UEFA Champions League once.
United could lose many of their more experienced players with Nemanja Vidic already agreeing terms with Inter, while defensive partner Rio Ferdinand’s future is also in doubt.
The Red Devils are already preparing replacements at left back, with Southampton’s Luke Shaw topping their transfer list as the Englishman is seen as a possible long term replacement.
Reports also reveal that Inter president Erick Thorir is already in contact with Evra’s agent in a move which could see Evra once again teaming up with Vidic.
