Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio admits the club are hoping to bring either Fernando Torres or Edin Dzeko to the San Siro in the summer, according to the Express.
Inter owner Erick Thohir admitted earlier in the week that Torres and Dzeko were on his list of summer transfer targets, and suggested the possibility of one of them arriving at the San Siro in the summer is likely.
And now Ausilio has revealed the club are working to complete one of the deals, although wages may prove to be a stumbling block.
He told Sky Sports Italia: “Aside from the names, I think it’s obvious we are working in that direction for that role.
“It’s true we cannot target players whose wages are too high, but in football there are often other resources.
“We’ll put a little bit of creativity and ingenious thought into it.
“We want to build a team that takes into account the economic parameters we’ve been set.
“This year was very useful working with the coach and it will be a great resource for next season. I am convinced of that.”
Dzeko has been continually linked with a move away from the Etihad after struggling for regular first team action, while Chelsea may finally be willing to cut their losses on Fernando Torres this summer.
The Spaniard has managed just 19 Premier League goals since joining the Blues in January 2011.
