Liverpool and Arsenal have joined the race for highly-rated Hoffenheim winger Kevin Volland, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 21-year-old ace has established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s top emerging stars with a succession of impressive displays of late, alerting sides from across the continent.

Liverpool and Arsenal are just two top names thought to be watching his progress closely, and rumoured to be ready to splash £12m for his signature.

Technically adept and pacey, Volland is one of a number of top stars to have been produced in Germany of late, and has been mentioned in the same breath as more established starlets as being a future key man for his country by some.

Bayern Munich are also keen, but his current side may be more willing to discuss a deal with a foreign club rather than a direct rival.

Volland has impressed at international level as well, netting seven goals in 14 outings at U-21 level.

Scouts from both clubs may look to up their focus on the youngster ahead of January, while Tottenham have also been linked with a move.
