Despite Brendan Rodgers’ refusal to acknowledge how close Liverpool are to lifting the Premier League trophy, they certainly have one hand on the title after today’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City.
On a day where football united and respected the 96 that went to a football game and never came home; the atmosphere inside Anfield was electric.
The Kop certainly boosted the performance of Liverpool and today’s victory meant so much to everyone involved with the Merseyside club. None more so than Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard who post-match delivered a tearful and morale boosting speech to his teammates.
