Roy Hodgson has probably all but selected his full-back options, but it may be worth taking a look at Jon Flanagan in these last weeks. As the pressure has mounted on Liverpool in the title run-in, Flanagan has risen to every challenge faced. He dealt well against the pace of Jesus Navas, never shirks a big challenge, and is confident taking the ball out of defence. At the start of the season Flanagan would have been nowhere near contention but his run in the Liverpool side, and subsequent good form could see him right in the mix. He seems to thrive under pressure, and with a strong Liverpool contingent likely to go to Brazil, taking Flanagan along as the second-choice right-back (or left-back) may not be such a bad idea.
