Brendan Rodgers’ desperate search for a left-back could lead him to title rivals Chelsea, according to MailOnline.
The Liverpool chief came close to signing Ryan Bertrand, 24, in January before he eventually completed a loan move to Aston Villa.
The Reds have been frustrated in their search for a left-back this summer, losing out to Tottenham for Ben Davies and then being priced out of a move for Alberto Moreno by Sevilla.
But Chelsea will be reluctant to sell to their title rivals but may be willing to do business for around £8million.
Such a fee would be more realistic for Liverpool after they continuously refuse to meet Sevilla’s £16m valuation for Moreno.
But Rodgers has already insisted that every player he signs this summer will be carefully thought out and they will not pay over the odds just for the sake of it, despite having £75m still to spend.
