The Premier League duo have been linked with the Spaniard for some time, with both clubs said to have been on the verge of sealing deals for his signature on various occasions over the course of the past few years.
Their interest was thought to have cooled lately, but recent claims that he had grown unsettled at the Nou Camp led to speculation that a January loan swoop could be on the cards.
However Tello says that, despite fierce competition for a starting spot at Barca, he is happy at the club:
“I am content at Barcelona but we still have not advanced in the negotiation deal,” he said regarding a potential move.” He is quoted by The Express.
“It is normal that I desire more minutes in theteam. I want to profit on my opportunities this season.
“I do not need to demonstrate anything on the pitch because the coach knows how I am at this club.”
Tello featured, and scored, for the La Liga giants in their 6-1 hammering of Celtic in the week, and is desperate to earn more starts in a bid to boost his development.
But the 22-year-old faces an uphill battle, with the likes of Neymar, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Lionel Messi all operating in a similar role.
