Losing against your old club is never an easy thing to stomach. For Brendan Rodgers the Capital One Cup loss to his former south Wales employers will have felt like being socked in the gut. A dose of realisation as to the job on his hands at Anfield. To say the Reds were below-par against the Swans on Wednesday would be an understatement as the fragility of Rodgers' squad became all too apparent on another bleak Merseyside evening. The Northern Irishman was forced to rely on the younger members of his roster but their rawness left his side horribly exposed to their well drilled opposition. Even bringing on the big guns, in the form of Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard, didn't remedy the situation and Rodgers now faces a monumental task to pick his side up off the floor and turn their season around.

This week on FFC would Didier Drogba be the ideal short-term fix for the Reds and which Finnish goal machine does Rodgers have his eyes on?

Quote of the Week

"The club have invested an astronomical amount of money on a talented player and Joe had the opportunity. He has been back fit a couple of weeks and his opportunities have been limited but you have to see. I thought it was difficult for him. It was too slow and it wasn't what I would expect from a team I tried to set up to be dynamic." Brendan Rodgers questions whether Joe Cole has proved to be value for money for Liverpool
