Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has once again stated that he needs to sign more players before the close of the transfer window on Thursday night.
Rodgers has already added Daniel Sturridge to his front line this month but the £12million price tag of the former Chelsea striker has taken a big chunk of his budget.
Swansea defender Ashley Williams, Inter Milan playmaker Philippe Coutinho and Blackpool ace Thomas Ince have all been lined up for late window bids but the later it gets the more desperate Rodgers will become.
On transfer deadline day in the summer, Rodgers failed with two late bids for players including Clint Dempsey who moved across London from Fulham to Tottenham.
Nuri Sahin and Joe Cole have both left Anfield this month and so Rodgers is extremely keen to add more faces to his squad to push towards the top four and possibly bringing Champions League football back to Merseyside.
“We hope to do some business between now and the end of the month,” Rodgers told talkSPORT.
“The owners have been brilliant in supporting (me), we knew we were maybe a little bit short in the summer.
“We all agreed this was a month we would try to reinforce, if we could.”
