Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he doesn’t plan to spend much more money in the January transfer window.

The Reds signed Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea for £12million earlier this week and that may be all the business done and dusted at Anfield this month.

Many Liverpool fans feel the squad needs two or three more players to compete for a top six spot but the manager has claimed that he just doesn’t have the funds to do that.

Injuries have taken their toll on Rodgers’ squad this season but a good run of form has seen them sneak their way up to 8th and are just a handful of points away from the European spots.

However with the FA Cup kicking off today and further involvement in the Europa League to come, the Red’s squad is going to be extremely stretched from now until May.

One more deal may happen according to the former Swansea boss but big money is not there to spend.

‘We are not going to have a lot of money to do anything [else] in the window,” Rodgers told The Metro.

‘We won’t have that in January. There might be another but there is not much more business to be done.”
