It's getting to that point in the transfer window where the rumours really start to step up a level as the deadline looms large.

Clubs know that it's now or never if they want to get players in before the deadline, or else they'll have to make do with what they currently have until January.

It's the same for Liverpool who have been very busy already in the market. In Jurgen Klopp's first pre-season there have been plenty of incomings and outgoings: Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan and Georginio Wijnaldum have all come through the Anfield gates for the first time in a bid to help the club get back into the top four.

That might not be all of it, though. There are still plenty of rumours around linking the Anfield club with potential recruits, and many still feel they need a new left back at least.

As the clock ticks down on this window, here at Football FanCast we've taken a look at some of those rumours to bring you five moves the Reds could still complete...

Christian Pulisic

The highly-rated American teenager is currently plying his trade at Dortmund, and Jurgen Klopp could do worse than raiding his former club for their promising young winger. He turns 18 next month but already has appearances to his name in the Bundesliga - nine last year - in which he managed two goals. Evidently he's on his way to be a top player so a move to Liverpool wouldn't be a surprise, and Klopp already knows what the American can bring from his Dortmund days.

Bruno Martins Indi

Brazil v Netherlands - FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 - Third/Fourth Place Play-Off

After Alberto Moreno's poor start to the season and the fact that Mamadou Sakho seems to have fallen our of favour, the Reds are looking a little bit short at the back. It's natural, then, that defenders are being linked to the club. The Dutchman was linked earlier this month with a switch to Anfield and would definitely help out the Reds down that left side given he's played football at the very highest level with the Netherlands.

Jonas Hector

Another left-back who was linked with the Reds earlier in the summer, Hector has since signed a new contract with FC Cologne to ward of any interest. However, that may have been a ploy on behalf of the German club to boost the defender's value, so he could still be available if the Reds stumped up the fee. It remains to be seen what that would be now, but as a Premier League club Liverpool could probably still afford it.

Charlie Taylor

If the Anfield club decide against Hector and Martins Indi perhaps Charlie Taylor will be the one to sort out their left side. The Leeds United man would command a considerably smaller fee and may be a player Jurgen Klopp would feel confident of improving. He's young and inexperienced at the top level but that would allow him to grow whilst still providing better knowledge of the position than Alberto Moreno.

Luan

This could be the Reds finishing in the market this summer with a flourish. The Brazilian striker is being linked to the club in a £30 million move and it's a potential deal that could send shockwaves around the club. If Luan does come to Merseyside you have to wonder where that leaves Daniel Sturridge - there are plenty of talking points, and we could be in for an exciting few days at Anfield!
