With a limited focus this season, Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool squad has proven itself more than capable at handling their fixture schedule. But by the time September rolls around, the rigorous demands of Champions League football will kick in, and the club will need to act upon this necessity during the summer months.
Liverpool’s squad depth will be pushed to the max next season, and if they don’t take the chance to re-shape certain areas then they may find themselves struggling to replicate the kind of performances which have seen them rise to the top of the Premier League this season. But in order to improve, Rodgers will need to ease some of the pressure on the wage bill first.
