Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be preparing to trigger Luis Suarez’s £68 million Liverpool release clause in order to begin negotiations, Daily Star reports.
Both Spanish clubs are now planning to bring Europe’s joint top scorer to their respective sides as soon as this upcoming summer window.
Suarez recently scored twice for Uruguay when they defeated England 2-1 dimming the Three Lions hopes of making it through the group stages of the World Cup.
Last season, the Reds star revealed his intentions to find a new club, but since Brendan Rodgers led his side to second spot in the English Premier League and a place in next seasons Champions League, he confirmed his stay with a new contract.
Luis Enrique is very keen in bringing the player to join up with him at the Catalan club alongside his new signings Ivan Rakitic and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The Champions League winners also want to bring the likes of Suarez into their side to complete a lethal attacking trio alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
