Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has confessed that his long-term future is unclear.
The Spanish stopper is currently enjoying a season-loan at Napoli, and is widely being tipped for a summer switch to Barcelona to replace Victor Valdes,
Reina was set for a transfer to the Nou Camp last year, but saw his hopes of returning to his boyhood club scuppered by the Barca star’s decision to see out the final year of his contract before leaving in search of a new challenge.
As a result, the 31-year-old linked up with former boss Rafa Benitez In Italy following Simon Mignolet’s move to Liverpool from Sunderland.
The keeper is widely expected to have already played his last game on Merseyside, however his potential move to Barca has been thrown into doubt amid reports they are eyeing other options.
Reina says that he is yet to have been made aware of the Reds’ plans, and that he does not know where he will be playing next season.
“I don’t know where I’ll be next year, but my plan is to enjoy this season and do a good job,” Reina told The Mirror.
“Then I’ll have to go to Liverpool and make a decision.
“They (Liverpool) have to explain to me what their intentions are, but I’m not currently up to speed on all of the possible offers which might come in, because that’s a job for my agent.
“My future is here, in Italy, and we’ll see what happens in June.”
