Pepe Reina has told Liverpool that he is ready to talk about turning his loan move to Napoli into a permanent one this summer.
The experienced Spaniard was axed by Brendan Rodgers last year after the arrival of Simon Mignolet, and has widely been tipped to join boyhood club Barcelona for some time.
But with the La Liga side expected to be unable to conduct any transfer business after being slapped with a two window ban, it looks unlikely that he’ll get his dream return to the Nou Camp this time around.
Reina has been performing well at Napoli this term, and it is understood that their manager Rafa Benitez is keen to bring him in on a full basis.
The 31-year-old says that his future is down to Liverpool, but that he is willing to discuss his future in Naples with them:
“My future is tied with Liverpool because I still had two years remaining on my contract,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“I will go back to talk about the transfer to Napoli, where I am happy and I am having a good season and we will deal with Liverpool.”
