Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that he is ready to invest in his squad once again when the transfer window re-opens.
Rodgers drafted in a number of players over the summer as he set about his reshaping of the Merseyside giants in a bid to gain Champions League qualification.
Despite having invested heavily, the Northern Irishman has hinted that he is ready to spend once more this winter to help his side maintain their fine start to the campaign:
“Now we can only concentrate on the league up until Christmas,” he is quoted by The Independent.
“So we have to make sure we stay up in that top six in the league and keep fighting and hopefully we can reinforce in January.”
Rodgers secured the signings of Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto, Kolo Toure, Simon Mignolet, Tiago Ilori, Mamadou Sakho over the summer, to add to his January additions of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho.
But, despite his claims of further investment, the ex-Swansea boss says that he is happy with his current options:
“We have got a very good side. I think we showed that in the games we have played so far.
“For example the games against Manchester United, not only in the cup but also in the league – against a top team we showed that we are capable of harm and making sure we win those games.”
