The winger has been creating quite a stir in Holland recently after making his debut at the age of 16 and breaking the Eredivisie’s youngest ever goalscorer record, which was previously held by Arjen Robben – a player he has been compared to.
Understandably, a number of top clubs from within the Netherlands are said to be tracking his progress, but Groningen’s director, Hans Nijland, says that Liverpool are also interested:
“All the top clubs in Holland want him but Liverpool are here every week too.” He said.
“They are watching him closely and very keen.”
Liverpool are known to be in the market for young talent, with the club’s owners, FSG, keen to snap up the very best players before allowing them to develop on Merseyside.
Zivkovic – who was born in the Netherlands Antilles – has represented Serbia at youth level, but could elect to pursue his senior international career with Holland.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are thought to be close to securing deals for Willian and Aly Cissokho.
The Reds are said to be discussing a move for the Brazilian winger with Anzhi Makhachkala, while Cissokho is set to undergo a medical before penning a one-year loan move from Valencia.
