Liverpool have made Nottingham Forest starlet Jamaal Lascelles one of their top summer targets, according to reports from the Sunday People.

The 20-year-old centre-back has emerged as one of the second tier’s finest young talents in recent times, alerting a whole host of Premier League sides.

Brendan Rodgers; side are just one of the ‘big boys’ circling the defender, with an end of season swoop in the pipeline.

The Reds chief is understood to have had scouts assessing rookie in recent months, and has been impressed with the feedback he has been given.

Lascelles looks to be a certainty to play at the top level next season, with a move said to be on the cards if Forest do not make promotion.

The Championship outfit are believed to be holding out for a massive fee, but much depends on their ability to match the skilful centre-back’s ambitions.

Rodgers is also eyeing another Football League talent in the shape of Chesterfield’s Aaron Chapman.

The 6ft. 7” goalkeeper plies his trade in League Two with the Spireites, but has been tipped to move up the ladder soon.

Liverpool are rumoured to be looking at a new backup stopper to replace Brad Jones.
