Liverpool are planning a summer move for PSV Eindhoven’s highly-rated winger Zakaria Bakkali, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The 18-year-old Belgian is currently thought of as one of European football’s most promising talents, and shot to fame earlier this season when he broke Arjen Robben’s record to become the Eredivisie’s youngest ever hat-trick scorer at just 17 – on his home debut for his club.

He has continued to feature regularly for PSV since then, attracting attention from some of the continent’s biggest sides.

Liverpool are believed to be one of those interested, as Brendan Rodgers plots a big summer of activity ahead of the likelihood of Champions League football at Anfield next term.

Bakkali has been lauded for his pace and skill, and is currently seen as one of Belgium’s best young players – which is no mean feat considering the crop of footballers the nation has been producing of late.

PSV are likely to demand a huge fee for their fledgling star, but Fenway Sports Group – the Reds’ owners – may well sanction a large spend to snap up the teenager thanks to their commitment to nurturing young players.

Arsenal have also been linked with the wide-man in the past.
