The France international has been impressive since arriving at St James’ Park last year, with his displays in the black and white shirt having earned him a spot in Les Bleus’ World Cup squad.
He has featured frequently in Brazil, and now it is understood that Liverpool, and Monaco, are keen on the 24-year-old.
Sissoko is seen as a good option by Brendan Rodgers, who has watched the burly star perform well in his natural central midfield role as well as on the right flank in recent times.
Newcastle have shown a willingness to sell star names in the past, and may be tempted to cash in once again.
A number of French players are rumoured to have grown disillusioned with life at the club since the exit of Yohan Cabaye, which may ease the passage for Sissoko to leave.
The player’s agent also hinted earlier this summer that a move might be on the cards:
“We’re only a year-and-a-half into his Newcastle contract, but open to all propositions for Moussa.”
