Liverpool have no interest in signing PSV Eindhoven left-back Jetro Willems despite intense speculation over the course of the past few days, according to reports from ESPN.

The Reds are believed to be on the lookout for a new left-sided full-back to complete their summer transfer business amid doubts about Alberto Moreno’s abilities.

Georginio Wijnaldum became their sixth addition of the current window last week, and rumours of Willems following him circulated soon after when the defender posted a picture of his former PSV team-mate on Instagram (below) captioned with: “We’ll see each other again soon”.

Reports from the players’ homeland soon followed suggesting a move is on the cards, while Willems posted an image of himself in a Liverpool kit on Snapchat.

However, ESPN claim that the Merseyside club are not interested in the 22-year-old even though Brad Smith is close to joining Bournemouth and the PSV ace is ready leave Eindhoven.

Liverpool are thought to be targeting Ben Chilwell of Leicester.

I wish you all the best at your new club my friend, we'll see each other again soon! A photo posted by Jetro Willems (@jwillems15) on
