Liverpool have added Nathaniel Clyne to the list of Southampton players on their radar, and are plotting a £40m double raid for the defender and captain Adam Lallana, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Reds are set for a big summer of transfer activity, with Brendan Rodgers due to be handed a significant budget, plus what he can earn through sales of fringe players, to build a squad capable of handling Champions League and domestic football.

A £25m move for Lallana is thought to be close to completion, and now the Northern Irishman also wants Clyne.

The rampaging right-back was one of the stars of the Saints’ impressive 2013/14, performing well on the right side of their backline.

With Glen Johnson, 29, currently in a contract standoff with the Anfielders, a replacement may be needed for the England star – who could well leave of a free transfer at the end of next season.

Clyne is seen as a potential alternative, and has already seen his playing style compared to the former Chelsea and Portsmouth man.

Lallana himself is rumoured to have told close friends that he expects to be a Liverpool player next season.

Why don’t you go and grow your own youngsters…? Leave our Team alone…the media feeding frenzy is based on Bollocks…it just proves that Southampton know what they are doing and other top clubs just use a cheque book rather than something that is sustainable and helps England as a team.
