Liverpool are ready to make a January offer for Blackpool winger Thomas Ince who they allowed to leave Anfield only 18 months ago for £25,000.

The Reds are said to be willing to pay £6million to bring back the wide player, and Ince looks willing to give a career with the Merseyside club another chance after a lack of first team opportunities last time around.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to see the England Under-21 player return ‘home’ after a terrific season for Blackpool which attracted reported interest from the likes of Man Utd as well.

They will want to avoid the possibility of a rival club snapping up the youngster and as Football Spy revealed earlier this month, Liverpool seem the front runners in their bid to strike a deal.

The reds also have a sell-on clause agreed in the terms when Ince moved to Blackpool, meaning they will have 35 percent of the transfer fee paid back to them and the deal will come to £4million.

After a slow start to his tenure as Blackpool boss, Michael Appleton is ready to stamp his own authority on his team by breaking up the squad Holloway left and rebuilding.

“There are a lot of lads who have been at the club for a while now and there are others whose contracts are up. This is a big period for our future.” He told the Mirror.
