Luis Suarez’s father-in-law has urged the striker to quit Liverpool and join Barcelona this summer.
The Uruguayan superstar – who is currently away at the World Cup – has once again found his future up in the air after a tumultuous few months a year ago.
There has been talk that Suarez is now settled on Merseyside, but that seems not to have deterred Real Madrid – who wanted him in 2013 – and Barca.
Reports in Spain have hinted that the controversial hit-man would consider joining the Catalan giants, and now Gustavo Balbi – the father of his wife, Sofia – has said that the 27-year-old should make the move:
“It is the right time for a change,” he is quoted by The Metro.
“He has nothing left to prove in England. The best solution would be if he were to go to Spain.
“We would like to have them close to us in Spain [with Barcelona] but it does not matter which team he signs for. He would do very well over here.”
Suarez netted 31 Premier League goals for Liverpool last season, helping them to secure the Champions League football he actively sought last year when he agitated for a move.
