Paris Saint-Germain attacker Jeremy Menez has opened the door for a summer switch to Liverpool by revealing that his future is far from clear.
The French international has been a target for the Reds for some time, with Brendan Rodgers believed to be a fan of his abilities.
A swoop was mooted last year, but the player himself was content to stay at PSG and battle for first-team action.
However he has managed just six league outings for the Parisians this term, with Laurent Blanc possessing a squad littered with talent in every position.
Menez’s current contract expires in a matter of months, and the 26-year-old confessed that his plans are unclear:
“We talked about an extension, but it was not sorted out.” He is quoted by The Express.
“I have three months remaining on my contract at PSG, we will see what will happen at the end of the season.”
Menez is able to play on either flank of in a central attacking role, making him a desirable option for Rodgers as he looks to build a squad capable of fighting for domestic and European honours.
Liverpool are likely to face competition for the skilful forward from Bayer Leverkusen.
