Liverpool have already wrapped up the capture of Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez, according to Anfield legend Phil Thompson.

Sanchez is expected to leave the Nou Camp this summer after falling out with new boss Luis Enrique.

And, despite a move to Arsenal thought to be close to being completed, Thompson has revealed Liverpool have already done a deal to ensure he’ll be playing in front of the Kop next term.

He told Metro: “Just yesterday I heard things from people, newspaper guys, who are very close to the ground at Liverpool, saying that the Sanchez deal was actually done.”

It is believed Liverpool scouts have been following the Chilean in action at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, further strengthening Thompson’s claims.

Any confirmation for Liverpool or reports of a fee are yet to be announced, but it’s expected the Reds will have had to stump up around £27million for the winger.

I agree with machmood the inconceivable. If newspaper people confirmed his claim yesterday, why did they(newspaper) not print it today? This is just rumor!
