As quoted by The Shields Gazzette, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has insisted the club are under no pressure to sell Moussa Sissoko before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Despite his lacklustre performances coming under criticism as the Magpies plummeted out of the top flight last season, a strong showing in the Euro 2016 final has seen the France international linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer.

Indeed, The Guardian claimed in July that Everton are prepared to meet Newcastle's £35million valuation of the midfield powerhouse, whilst French publication Le10Sport later linked him with a move to Liverpool.

However, it appears the Championship side are yet to receive an offer from either of the aforementioned duo and Sissoko is now in the squad to play Huddersfield on Saturday in the Magpies' second league fixture of the new season.

And gaffer Rafa Benitez has warned potential suitors that the club will not be pressed into selling the 26-year-old during the final days of the summer transfer window, whilst suggesting he wants any deal for Sissoko wrapped up as soon as possible.

As quoted by The Shields Gazzette, he said; "If someone is coming with the right offer, we will consider and we will analyse the offer. If it's not the right offer, we are really pleased to keep him here.

"He knows he has to concentrate on that. "He's on the list on the squad for tomorrow, and after we will decide if he's fine or not.

"Every day, it will be more difficult because we are happy with him and we think he's a very good player.

"If someone is waiting to do a deal on August 30 ... no chance, because we don't need to sell. We are happy. He's a very good player.

"The priority for us is to be sure he's fine, he's ready, and if we need to use him in the next games, he has to be available. If someone wants to come, they have to make the right offer as soon as possible, or it will be impossible."
