It's been a fairly positive start for Liverpool so far.

When you look at who they've played this season a return of seven points isn't too bad. The Reds have taken on last year's top three and not lost whilst the only blot on their record was against Burnley, as seems to be the way with the Anfield side.

Nevertheless, things are looking up for the Merseysiders who seem to be really getting what Jurgen Klopp wants them to do now and a number of their players are really starting to hit their stride.

Where the team ends up remains to be seen, it will largely depend on whether the team can stamp out those results like the one at Turf Moor earlier this season but if they can, a top four finish is very doable and that's what the club should be looking at.

We’ve teamed up with 7 Of The Best to bring you a footballing treat for the season. It’s free to play and the best individual score each week wins £500, the highest scoring team wins £1,500 a week and there is a prize of £2,000 for the best individual over the course of a month. Want to win bigger? Nab yourself a whopping £500k if you get all seven of your selections correct for seven consecutive weeks.

There's a long time to go, though, and many things could happen but, keeping with this theme, here are the SEVEN players that have stood out for the Reds so far...

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane

One of the signings of the season so far. Mane has been dynamite down the right for the Reds and has given them a much-needed injection of pace out wide. He doesn't seem at all bothered by the expectation he now has of him and the goal he scored against Arsenal was one of sheer individual brilliance. If he keeps on like this Liverpool will be confident of taking anyone on.

The Brazilian is Liverpool's best player and he's certainly done more to cement that tag this season. His free-kick at the Emirates on the opening day was top class and he seems now to be consistent with his performances which was what was required of him to become a real Premier League force. With him in the team the Reds have the ability to win a game at any moment and he'll be key for the duration of the campaign.

You've got to hand to James Milner, wherever he plays he's done a good job and it looks as though it's the same at left-back. The former Aston Villa man had never really played in that position until this season but he looks pretty solid and a far better option than Alberto Moreno in defence. If he can keep it up remains to be seen but so far he's done well and you have to applaud him for that.

Roberto Firmino

Roberto Firmino

Firmino is a bit of an odd player to watch. He looks like he's completely out the game one minute and then turns up and scores the next. He must be a real nightmare for players to mark because you never know where he's going to appear next and with him in such fine form he has to make this list. He's the ideal man to carry out Jurgen Klopp's playing style and he's certainly proving that this year.

Adam Lallana

Lallana

Lallana has easily been the most improved player under Klopp and looks like a real Liverpool player now. To start with he seemed to lack confidence and that naturally hindered him but this season he has been involved with a lot of the good things about the Reds' attacking play as well as the fact he's adding goals to his game too. He's looking like the player Liverpool signed back in 2014.

Joel Matip

matip

It's very early days in Matip's Liverpool career but he looks like a pretty decent bit of business so far. He's calm at the back even under pressure and a real physical presence too, two things Liverpool really needed at the back. The hope is at the club he'll continue to grow in confidence and eventually be the basis for a much more solid Reds back four than the one currently.

Nathaniel Clyne

clyne

Liverpool's Mr. Reliable, Clyne has showcased both his attacking and defensive attributes already this season. He gets forward at the right times instead of all the time and very rarely gets caught out at the back. With all Liverpool’s attacking talent his contribution gets overlooked but it really shouldn’t be and Jurgen Klopp certainly knows how vital he is.
