Kicking off this list is one of Liverpool’s reported transfer targets from the January window – Burnley assassin Danny Ings.
Filling the void left behind by the departure of Charlie Austin back in the summer, the Turf Moor goal machine has been in sensational form this season to record 19 goals and four assists in 32 Championship appearances.
That prolific haul leaves the 21 year-old as the division’s second-top scorer, with his goalscoring efforts only bettered by Leeds front-man Ross McCormack.
An incredibly intelligent footballer who can also operate as a No.10, Ings’ average of 1.5 key passes per match demonstrates his ability to create chances, as well as get on the end of them.
Many have compared Burnley’s forward cast – of Ings and strike-partner Sam Vokes – to Liverpool’s lethal SAS duo, and Brendan Rodgers reportedly views the England U21 as the perfect understudy to Sturridge and Suarez.
Back in the January window, the former Bournemouth trainee was rated at around £7million by the tabloids. But depending on Ings’ goal tally come May-time, that figure could easily skyrocket into double figures.
