Moving on to another Lyon man – highly-rated striker Alexandre Lacazette has recently been lined up as a summer target for the Anfield side by the tabloids.
The 22 year-old – who rose through Les Gones’ youth ranks and made his Ligue 1 debut in 2010 – is amid a sensational campaign that’s seen him claim 13 goals and two assists in 24 league appearances. That impressive goal haul is only bettered in the French top flight by PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
In total, he’s amassed 33 goals and 28 assists in 127 Lyon appearances, and played a significant role in the club’s Coupe de la Ligue title win earlier this season.
Lacazette can operate on either flank or as an out-and-out striker, meaning he would provide adequate cover for Liverpool’s prolific SAS strike-force and depth out wide.
With his stock rising all the time, the Lyon star was brought into the France national team fold last year, and is expected to make Didier Deschamps’ squad for the coming World Cup.
The Stade de Gerland outfit’s financial troubles could see Lacazette leave on the cheap in the summer, but he’s reportedly on the radars of Arsenal and Everton, so Liverpool should expect competition for his signature.
