Liverpool have been the busiest Premier League team in the transfer market this summer, buying 10 players so far.

The Reds fixed certain issues in their squad, shoring up their defence and replacing a feisty striker with a volatile one in Mario Balotelli.

They’ve added youth in Lazar Markovic and Emre Can, while also bringing in extra experience in the guise of local lad and football journeyman Rickie Lambert.

However with the transfer window counting down to its close, are there any more players Liverpool can bring to strengthen their squad even further?

Here are SIX PLAYERS that could well follow Super Mario to Liverpool.

Radamel Falcao

Name: Radamel Falcao

Age: 28

Position: Striker

Nationality: Colombia

Club: Monaco

Price: £45 - £50 million

Although Liverpool have already signed Mario Balotelli, they will surely not want to miss on the chance to bring in Radamel Falcao as well. With Sturridge being shifted to a wingers role and playing the Italian alongside the Colombian, they will probably be the most fear strike force in the Premier League.

Reinforcing the squad with Balotelli shows intent that Brendan Rodgers isn’t scared to gamble on top class talent in his bid to make the Reds a championship winning side once more. The more world class players they have, the more will want to join.

Marco Reus

Name: Marco Reus

Age: 25

Position: Left Wing

Nationality: Germany

Club: Borussia Dortmund

Price: £40 - £45 million

Marco Reus has been a top target for a host of European clubs throughout the summer window, but due to his injury ahead of the World Cup, few have seen him at his best as the winger is currently working on getting ready for the new campaign.

Despite this, adding Reus to an attacking force which includes the very interesting personality known as Mario Balotelli could add some excitement and flair into the Liverpool squad especially after the departure of Luis Suarez.

Stephen El Shaarawy

Name: Stephen El Shaarawy

Age: 21

Position: Left Wing

Nationality: Italy

Club: AC Milan

Price: £17 – £20 million

Stephen El Shaarawy’s career has been filled with injuries and knocks, but when at the top of his game, he can replicate a style very similar to that of Raheem Sterling with Liverpool. Both are very young and could develop into a great addition for Brendan Rodgers in regards to pace and skills on the counter attack.

With Mario Balotelli joining the Reds, he has known to have a close relationship with El Shaarawy, as he could even influence him to make a switch to the England. His pace down the flanks and Balotelli’s sharpness in the box is surely going to be an idea running through Rodgers mind should this pairing ever come up.

Alessio Cerci

Name: Alessio Cerci

Age: 27

Position: Right Winger, Striker

Nationality: Italy

Club: Torino

Price: £14 - £18 million

Alessio Cerci is a type of player that Brendan Rodgers would love to have in his team as he can convincingly play in two separate positions. He can be deployed as a striker or even a right winger, who loves to cut in and unleash a powerful left footed shot at goal.

Last season, he played 37 Serie A matches, scoring 13 and providing another 12 for his club. Signing another Italian will surely be in favour of Mario Balotelli, while a player who can create as well as score goals will be a great asset at Anfield.

Morgan Schneiderlin

Name: Morgan Schneiderlin

Age: 24

Position: Defensive Midfieder

Nationality: France

Club: Southampton

Price: £15 - £20 million

Even though Morgan Schneiderlin is yet to make a huge impact for Southampton, he can mature into a player capable of filling the role of Steven Gerrard at the heart of the Liverpool formation. His addition can benefit the team both with his hard man style of tackling as well as his composed playmaking abilities.

Schneiderlin is capable of holding up play inside his own half should the Reds decide to slow down play. Should Brendan Rodgers make a move, it would greatly benefit the team in trying to find the perfect player to step into Gerrard shoes when the club skipper isn’t available.

Alex Song

Name: Alex Song

Age: 26

Position: Defensive Midfielder

Nationality: Cameroon

Club: Barcelona

Price: £10 - £13 million

Alex Song is currently linked with a host of English Premier League clubs, including the likes of Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, as well as former side Arsenal. Failure to find his amazing form with the Gunners, his addition could add that extra bit of depth into the Liverpool squad.

Lucas Leiva recently returned from a long-term injury and is yet to find his form to secure his place in the first team as Song could easily step in as another alternative to play alongside Steven Gerrard. The Cameroonian’s addition can patch up the team on the defensive side in order to sure up their midfield.
