With Pep Guardiola looking to kick on from a successful season in charge of Bayern Munich, it is believed he is looking to shift a selection of players out who he doesn’t see fit for his footballing philosophy. Rumours have suggested in recent days that the Brazilian international centre-back, Dante, is one of these few. Over the past couple of seasons, Dante has developed into one of the world’s leading centre-halves, with his command in aerial challenges, and his calmness in possession being two of his stronger traits. He may not be the technician that Guardiola likes from his defenders, but he is a class act. Having signed a new contract in March, he would come at a cost. But with his experience in a highly-demanding, possession-based Bayern Munich side, he should be able to adapt well enough to fit Rodgers’ not-too-dissimilar style of play.
