The disappointment at having failed to bring in anyone during the January window looks to be forgotten now following Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Arsenal on the weekend. Even though Brendan Rodgers’ side are lacking in certain areas, those problems have been cast aside, at least for now, after another fantastic performance in the league.
But Liverpool are in need of strengthening their squad, not least because those around them will more than likely make good use of the summer market. Rodgers has been limited generally to mid-range targets, never going above the £15million mark. And while he may wish to move up in the market, there’s certainly nothing wrong with buying young talents for the future.
