Liverpool surpassed all expectations when they challenged for the Premier League title last season, coming just two points short of winning their first league trophy in 24 years.

With star striker Luis Suarez expressing his desire to stay at Anfield – and win the league for the supporters – the Reds will be expected to be amongst the top again.

However to overthrow the powerhouses from Manchester and London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, they will have to dig into the transfer market to find their missing pieces.

And what better way to scout talent than to enjoy the ‘Biggest show on Earth’, the FIFA World Cup.

We start in Group A, where the hosts Brazil are joined by Croatia, Mexico, and Cameroon. Brazil may have the biggest pool of talent, but there’s no denying there’s some hidden gems in the other three challenging to advance to the next round.

Here we take a look at SIX World Cup Stars Liverpool can sign from Group A.

Looking at some of the prices being mentioned the £60m linked to Liverpool isn’t going to go far.

Assuming the Can deal goes ahead I would go for Lovren and Caulker, both are young and have Premiership experience, probably get both for £23m.

Need a left back so I would go for Cole on a free to give us more time for next year, would also help Flanagan.

Also on a free would be Crystal Palaces goalkeeper, great back up and again experienced.

I feel Llallana is getting too expensive £22.5m max, would prefer Pedro if he is the same money or Shaqiri and Bernard for the same money and have 2 young talented players with Champions League experience.

These players will cost in total around £55m, as the board for another £10m and get Remy, means we are £m over budget but 8 quality players in to give good cover in all areas.
