There are two possible outcomes after this summer for Liverpool. With last season’s amazing second place finish, many are expecting the Reds to come out firing and once again challenge for the Premier League title.

However with Luis Suarez off to Barcelona, Brendan Rodgers side will be missing their undoubted star man.

Yet despite this, the Anfield hierarchy have moved quickly in the transfer market, already securing Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from Southampton... along with Bayer Leverkusen’s Emre Can and will shortly announce the arrival or Lazar Markovic.

But will these four be enough to replace the PFA Player of the Year? You would expect Liverpool to still be monitoring the market, with a bunch of stars in the World Cup sure to grab some of Brendan Rodgers’ attention.

From Group G we have the Germans, who have progressed to the final along with surprise package USA, Ghana, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal. Are there any players that will be of interest to Rodgers’ squad?

Here are SIX WORLD CUP STARS Liverpool should sign from Group G.

Draxler

Julian Draxler

Draxler

Age: 20

Club: Schalke

Position: LW, CAM

Nationality: Germany

Estimated Value: £30million

If Liverpool really want to replace Suarez, then they will have to make a big move for a player capable of carrying a team on his shoulders. Julian Draxler is capable of becoming that man.

At just 20 years of age the German is already earmarked to be one of the best attacking midfielders in the continent, with his mazy dribbling skills and pace enough to penetrate any defence in the EPL and Europe.

Arsenal have been chasing his signature but Liverpool could use the cash they get out of Suarez to launch a massive £30million bid for the man that can push the Reds for another title challenge.

Matthias Ginter

Matthias Ginter

Age: 20

Club: SC Freiburg

Position: CB

Nationality: Germany

Estimated Value: £12million

At the tender age of 20 Matthias Ginter is already touted to lead the German back-line in the near future.

The Freiburg centre-back is extremely calm at the back, not letting pressure get to his performance. Daniel Agger could be leaving this summer and Ginter would be the perfect replacement, capable of forming a partnership with Mamadou Sakho that could last a few years.

Liverpool will have to shell out at least £12million for his services, who has grown with the Freiburg youth team since 2009.

Shkodran Mustafi

Mustafi

Age: 22

Club: Sampdoria

Position: CB, RB

Nationality: Germany

Estimated Value: £5million

Shkodran Mustafi was one of the surprise call-ups to the German national team, having performed remarkably for Sampdoria in the Calcio Serie A.

The 22-year-old is a no nonsense defender: strong in the air, good in the tackle, with an exceptional reading of the game.

Valued at just around £5million, Liverpool should sign the centre-back to shore up their leaky defence, as well as rubbing salt into Everton’s wounds after he was let go by the Toffees for free in 2012.

Fabio Coentrao

Coentrao

Age: 26

Club: Real Madrid

Position: LB, LM

Nationality: Portugal

Estimated Value: £15million

Although Fabio Coentrao just moved to Real Madrid two seasons ago, the Portuguese has not fit into the Bernebeu surroundings and could depart the Spanish club this summer.

Liverpool have been in the market for a left back and after talks for Alberto Moreno broke down, should consider a swoop for the former Benfica man.

Coentrao’s attacking play perfectly suits Brendan Rodgers’ tactics, and should be available at an estimated £15million fee.

Brad Guzan

Guzan

Age: 29

Club: Aston Villa

Position: GK

Nationality: United States

Estimated Value: £8million

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet had an indifferent campaign last season, in which the goalkeeper mixed some impressive displays with horrific blunders. He is by no means a poor shot-stopper, but could do with some competition.

Brad Guzan has become one of the better goalkeepers in the Premier League with Aston Villa, and would be a great capture for any side. Tim Howard may have received the plaudits for his amazing display against Belgium, but Guzan is almost equal to his talents.

Villa may consider negotiating if the Reds come in with an £8million offer.

Kwadwoh Asamoah

Asamoah

Age: 25

Club: Juventus

Position: LB, LM

Nationality: Ghana

Estimated Value: £20million

If Liverpool are truly looking for a world-class left back, then they should mull over making a bid for Juventus star Kwadwoh Asamoah.

The defender is one of best at his position, combining speed and technique in attacking with grit and tenacity while defending.

Asamoah has already received two consecutive Ghana Player of the Year awards along with his two Serie A titles, and would be a fine addition to Brendan Rodgers’ setup.
