Liverpool have made an offer worth €35m (£29.9m) for Gremio forward Luan, according to Futebol da Gaucha.

The Reds have been active in the transfer market this summer, with the big-money signings of Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane the headline deals for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Indeed, in his first off-season at Anfield, the German has drafted in six new players - while letting a host of peripheral figures depart - and it’s now claimed that he might not be done on the inward front.

A tweet from Futebol da Gaucha reads: “Gremio has in hand an official proposal Liverpool 35 million euros by Luan.”

It remains unclear as to whether Liverpool are eyeing a deal before the close of the transfer window on Wednesday or a move that will see Luan stay in his homeland until January to see out the 2016 season – as is the case with Gabriel Jesus’ switch to Manchester City from Palmeiras.

Interestingly, it has already been reported that only offers of €45m (£38.4m) will convince Gremio to agree a deal now rather than wait.

Luan is considered to be one of the top talents in Brazil. Despite being just 23, he’s made almost 150 league appearances for Gremio - netting 38 goals in the process.

Although he’s yet to be capped at senior international level, the versatile attacker, who can play on the flanks as well as up front, was a part of the Brazil Olympics squad that won Gold in Rio de Janeiro this summer.
