Heading into their trip to Southampton some were predicting dropped points for high-flying Liverpool, who have traditionally struggled against their South Coast foes. However, a 3-0 win moved them to second in the Premier League and four points off of leaders Chelsea. Although it was a good team performance, Luis Suarez stole the show with another fine display under the floodlights. After netting the opener, the Uruguayan set up Raheem Sterling before winning the late penalty Steven Gerrard converted. Now he tops the scoring and assists charts in English football’s top tier, and here are three reasons we think he’s the best player on show in the division.
Suarez pounced on some poor defending to open the scoring with the sort of chance many players would have blazed over the bar or put wide of goal.
Messy defending from Southampton. They could have cleared the ball away easily. Good finish from Suarez. He was clinical. — Fisseha Tegegn (@fisseha505) March 1, 2014
Great finish from Suarez. It really was. — Howtobet4free.com (@Howtobet4free_) March 1, 2014
Great instinctive finish from Suarez though. Gave Boruc absolutely no time to think and set himself up for a save. World class. — James Phillips (@JJP_LFC) March 1, 2014
Goals mean nothing without hard work in the modern game, and Suarez is a constant menace to opposition defenders.
Suarez when behaving himself is easily the best centre forward in the world, he makes it look so easy and his work rate is amazing.

Suarez is more complete player than Ibra. Suarez can assist, take free kicks. Better work rate. Rather have him than Ibra

Suarez has added that Rooney work rate to his game, still best player in the league for me.

As well as through goals, Suarez is proving his worth with assists, and showed again his cool edge by laying on Sterling’s effort.
Suarez top assist-maker AND top scorer now. Increíble
