Manchester City know that a win over Aston Villa tonight, will see them put one hand firmly on the Premier League trophy. However, just a couple of weeks ago it wasn’t looking like that would be the case.
Liverpool kept the three points at Anfield, in an entertaining 3-2 win over their title rivals, and began planning for that open top bus parade.
And then, well, we all know what happened when Steven Gerrard – Liverpool’s captain, Liverpool’s driving force, the man so many neutrals want to see win a Premier League medal – ended up doing in the game against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
Football fans are an unforgiving bunch and the City fans in attendance tonight certainly won’t let Gerrard forget that moment…
