Manchester United have now added Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti into their manager target list to replace David Moyes, Metro reports.

The Red Devils made a public statement yesterday that they had axed their manager after 10 woeful months at the helm of the Premier League champions.

United are now mathematically unable to qualify for the Champions League next season, which has the media now focused on the club’s tricky objective of finding a suitable replacement.

Jurgen Klopp has been mentioned but Louis van Gaal is the clear favorite to take the United hotseat, yet reports from Italy claim Carlo Ancelotti is their number one man.

The Real Madrid coach, who guided Chelsea to a league and cup double in 2010, is believed to be the person that can turn the club around.

However it would be difficult to lure the Italian away from Madrid, where it still only his first year in charge.

The probability of a potential deal will depend on whether the ‘Galaticos’ can complete ‘La Decima’ by winning their 10th European cup, which could motivate Ancelotti to the challenge of bringing Manchester United back to football dominance.
