Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster an attack led by Olivier Giroud, and believes 29-year-old Lavezzi would be a fantastic complement to aid in a title run next season.
It is believed a move for Lavezzi, currently at the World Cup with Argentina, would cost Arsenal around £15million, while the Gunners have also recently been linked to a move for former Man City striker Mario Balotelli at around £25m.
Lavezzi has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, but it remains to be seen whether or not that is a possibility with Diego Costa’s impending move to Stamford Bridge.
The Argentine international scored 11 goals in 43 appearances for the French champions last season.
But Arsenal may have reinforcements from within, too, as Wenger announced this week that Costa Rican striker Joel Campbell will be in training camp with the Gunners after spending the last three seasons out on loan.
