Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho expects to take all three points from their Premier League meeting with Chelsea and the Etihad tonight.
City are one place and three points better off than Jose Mourinho’s Blues and will retain top-spot in the Premier League with another home victory this evening.
And the 28-year-old Brazilian admits there is no reason why City shouldn’t emerge victorious again and hopes to avenge their 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge earlier this season.
He told City’s official website: “It is a very difficult game against a good team, but we will play at home and when you play at home you expect to win and we will try to do it again.
“I think when we played Chelsea in London we had a good performance, but we lost at the end of the match.
“But this is a new game and I’m sure it will be completely different.”
And Fernandinho believes the team’s preparations ahead of the clash with Chelsea have been going well and that confidence is high in the City camp.
“The whole team is preparing well for this game,” he admitted.
“Of course they have a very good manager and are a strong team with good players, but we are prepared and what happened there [in London] has to stay there.
“This is a new game, a new day and I hope it can be a new result which will be very good for us.”
