Manchester City have been very busy in the window this summer, and it might not be over yet.

Leroy Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito and John Stones have all come in to boost the first team and they've got underway in the Premier League rather well.

Pep Guardiola is aiming to win the league in his first season in England after winning the title in both Spain and Germany, and hasn't been scared to make big decisions in his early days at the club.

Joe Hart has been ousted from his number one spot whilst the 'death by possession' approach he favours has also begun to appear at the club but with Champions League football soon to contend with as well, Guardiola will be out on the look-out for any further signings before the deadline on Wednesday evening.

We still think he could make some improvements to an already impressive squad and these five from Serie A would allow him to do that...

Gianluigi Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma

This guy has a huge future ahead of him. A lot has been made of the emergence of Donnarumma, especially down to the fact he has been named in the same Italy squad as Gianluigi Buffon, who made his debut before the Milan stopper was born.

He's set to take over when Buffon eventually hangs up his gloves and with City signing Claudio Bravo who doesn't have many years left, he could be City's future too.

Radja Nainggolan

Looking at the way Pep Guardiola sets his team up, you'd argue the centre of their midfield lacks a combative presence. David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho have been the central players but only the latter even thinks about putting his foot in.

Of course, Pep must have an idea of what he's trying to do but in the games where City need to dig in what's going to happen? Signing Nainggolan would negate that issue.

Stefan De Vrij

Stephan de Vrij

City have signed John Stones but with Vincent Kompany still having injury issues, their central half pairing can still be got at.

How long Guardiola waits for the Belgian to get fit remains to be seen but he must have at least one eye on who he could bring in.

De Vrij would fit right into the team in Kompany's absence and is certainly better than Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi.

Alex Sandro

Are City's left backs good enough to carry out what Guardiola wants from them?

A lot's been made of the way he gets them to take up narrow positions when the team are in possession and attacking, and whilst Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolorov have done okay down the left, there's better out there.

Alex Sandro is one of these better left backs and would strengthen the team.

Kevin Strootman

Kavin Strootman (Holland)

Guardiola likes a deep lying ball player to control the whole tempo of the game in his midfield but there are question marks over who he has.

It's highly debatable that the current occupier of this role, Fernandinho, is good enough in the very best games whilst it remains to be seen if Ilkay Gundogan is the same player as before his injury.

If not, City need a replacement and Kevin Strootman would be perfect.
