According to reports from Goal, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte watched Joe Hart in action for Torino on Sunday.

What's the word?

Seemingly viewing the international break as a chance to return to his homeland, Blues boss Antonio Conte was snapped in the crowd as Torino beat Fiorentina 2-1 yesterday afternoon.

That has lead Goal to rather speculatively claim that Conte was taking a look at Manchester City's exiled shot-stopper Joe Hart, who moved to Turin on loan at the end of the summer transfer window following the arrival of former Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Their logic is simple - Hart's a well-established Premier League goalkeeper, whilst Chelsea No.1 Thibaut Courtois has struggled to live up to his billing since taking the mantle from Petr Cech at the start of the 2014/15 season.

Is there any truth to the story?

The long and short of it is quite simply, no. As many rumour mongerers do between transfer windows, Goal have added two with two to create a grand total of 85 - evident enough through them also claiming Conte could have been watching Italian hot-shot Andrea Belotti and former Blackburn Rovers flop Nikola Kalinic. Overall, it's pure guesswork on their part.

Likewise, there are many other reasons for Conte's presence in Turin, not least including the fact he's spent the majority of his life working there, firstly as a Juventus player and then as the Old Lady's triple-Serie-A-winning manager.

At the same time, although Courtois' form has drawn criticism this season, he's not been disastrous by any stretch of the imagination. And even if he was, the west Londoners have a more than qualified understudy to fall back on in former Stoke City No.1 Asmir Begovic.

How's Hart getting on?

We wouldn't go as far to say Hart's enjoying the form of his life in Turin, but the England international certainly isn't letting his temporary employers down. Indeed, his 3.5 saves per goal (courtesy of Squawka) this season exceeds the efforts of Petr Cech, David De Gea, Courtois and his successor, Bravo, in the Premier League.

However, those in the Chile international's camp will point to Hart's underwhelming distribution accuracy - which is seen as one of the main reasons Pep Guardiola ousted him from between the City sticks.
