Manchester City are to rival Atletico Madrid for the signature of 18-year-old San Lorenzo striker Angel Correa, according to the Mirror.

The wonder kid has been labelled as the next Sergio Aguero and is emerging as one of the brightest young talents in South America.

His performances have caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with the likes of Barcelona, Napoli and Arsenal all sending scouts to Argentina to watch him.

But Atletico Madrid have reportedly made the first move, with an official bid placed for Correa, and City are expected to be close behind with a more attractive offer.

San Lorenzo are not keen on selling the striker and want to keep him for as long as possible, with club owner Marcelo Tinelli not prepared to consider any fee lower than £10million.
