Manchester City are unlikely to make a shock swoop for Real Madrid target Radamel Falcao, according to the Daily Mirror.
City are looking to offload Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo before the close of the transfer window, with the former Sevilla man looking likely to be omitted from Manuel Pellegrini’s Champions League squad.
Reports suggested Pellegrini was considering a move for Falcao were City able to offload Negredo, despite the fact Monaco are demanding a £20million loan fee for the 29-year-old.
But Pellegrini is reluctant to bring in a fifth forward, with Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic also on the clubs books.
Falcao is desperate to leave Monaco, despite having signed only 12 months ago, and yesterday tweeted that a ‘dream’ move to Real Madrid had been completed – only to delete the message a short time later. The Colombian missed the majority of last season with a serious knee injury, and managed just nine goals for the Ligue 1 outfit.
