Napoli striker Edinson Cavani could leave the Italian club in the summer according to the clubs president.
Sky Sports have reported that the Uruguayan striker may request a move away from the Serie A club at the end of the season.
Manchester City have been long term admirers of the powerful 25-year-old and the chance to play in England could suit the striker who has all the attributes to be a hit in the Premier League.
City will face tough competition to snap up the highly rated forward as Paris St Germain, Real Madrid and Serie A leaders Juventus are all also interested in making a move this summer.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that he wants to keep his best players but that may not be possible in the case of Cavaini despite him signing a big money five year contract at the club earlier this season.
“He has a five-year contract with us and we will evaluate what to do in the summer,” De Laurentiis told Italian writers.
“If he were to convince me that his story with Napoli is over we’ll talk, otherwise he will remain here.”
